Forest Creek Folk is a secular community choir with a focus on folk, indie folk, and country music. Our repertoire features rich, layered arrangements of songs by artists such as ALVVAYS, Adrienne Lenker, Fleet Foxes, The Staves, Gillian Welch, Bon Iver and many more.

We proudly welcome adults of all ages, genders, and identities and strive to create an inclusive, supportive space for everyone.

While we don’t hold auditions or require you to read sheet music, Forest Creek Folk is best suited for singers who have some experience, as most of our repertoire is arranged in 3-5 part harmonies.

If Forest Creek Folk isn’t the best match for your current experience level, we warmly invite you to join All In Sing -our all-voices-welcome casual choir with no experience required.

The choir is led by songwriter and producer James McGuffie of Forest Creek Records (Music Coordinator) and freelance creative Dani Marano (Choir Coordinator). James guides the musical direction, arrangements, and vocal leading, while Dani oversees administration, venue and community coordination.

Season One: Wednesday nights Feb 4-Mar 25. 8 wks

Entry for Season One is now closed as we are well into our eight-week season.

Season One will run across eight Wednesday nights, February 4-March 25, at the Chewton Senior Citizens Centre.

This season, the choir will work as part of a special artist residency with acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Lior, learning five songs in preparation for a live performance at Forest Creek Fest at the Theatre Royal on Sunday 22 March. The season will include one dedicated rehearsal with Lior before performing alongside him on stage.
