SEASONAL CHOIR
Forest Creek Folk is a secular choir exploring traditional folk, indie folk, and singer-songwriter music through rich, layered vocal harmonies. Our repertoire spans artists such as ALVVAYS, Adrienne Lenker, Fleet Foxes, The Staves, Gillian Welch, Bon Iver, and more, alongside traditional folk songs and Australian artists.
We regularly collaborate with guest musicians and have performed with artists including Hana Stretton and Lior.
We welcome adults of all ages, genders and identities. There are no auditions, and all songs are taught by ear, so there’s no need to read music. Our repertoire is arranged in 3–5 part harmonies and is best suited to singers with some choir or harmony experience.

Forest Creek Folk is led by songwriter and producer James McGuffie (Music Coordinator, Forest Creek Records) and freelance creative Dani Marano (Choir Coordinator).
SEASON 4 - Songs of Town Folk: Wednesday nights, 30 Sept–18 Nov

Join us for an eight-week season learning songs by Australian artists Folk Bitch Trio, Hannah Cameron, Jordie Lane and Daisy Kilbourne, all playing at this year’s Town Folk Festival. We’ll finish the season with a performance at Old Castlemaine Gaol - with a few special guests joining us on stage!

Rehearsal Venue: Chewton Senior Citizen’s Centre on Djaara Country/ Chewton. Parking via Mount Street.
Time: Hall opens at 7pm. Rehearsal runs from 7.15pm-8.30pm.
Experience: Some singing experience is recommended, as most of our repertoire is arranged in 3–5 part harmony and taught by ear. No auditions or music-reading required.
Included: Printed lyric sheets and rehearsal recordings. We use Samply for recordings and WhatsApp for choir communication.
